Lottery Data Journal

Description of the Service

This service provides all available lottery results for the single-day date you select. For example, if you want the drawing results for yesterday, just select that date, and we will email you the results for all of the hundreds of lotteries that we have available for that date.

Format of the Data

This data is provided in CSV (Comma Separated Value) format (RFC 4180), where commas separate each field. So for a lottery with three numbers, the format would be:

[LOCALE],[LOTTERY NAME],[DRAWING DATE],[NUMBER 1],[NUMBER 2],[NUMBER 3]

The fields are described here:
  • The first field is the country (or, for the United States and Canada, the state or province).
  • The second field is the name of the lottery.
  • The third field is the date of the drawing, in ISO 8601 (YYYY-MM-DD)format.
  • Subsequent fields are the numbers drawn*.
  • The line terminator is of your own choosing.
*Please note that for lotteries with one or more bonus balls (for example, Mega Millions or Euro Millions), the bonus ball(s) will be at the end.

Here is an example for Indiana's Pick 3 lottery, drawn on Sunday evening, October 21, 2012:
Indiana,Pick 3 (Evening),2012-10-21,2,3,7

We currently finishing updating our data around 10:00 AM CST/CDT (UTC-6:00/UTC-5:00) daily. If you wish to purchase the dataset for the prior day's drawings, you may want to wait until that time before you order. We are working towards more timely database updating in the near future.

Delivery of the Data

The data is delivered via email.
